Here we can post events, issues, information or whatever is relevant to this community. Community approved contractors, vendors, resident association notes, park rules, local events. and whatever else we can dream up.

What is Mutual Aid?

Mutual aid is often used synonomously with charity but they are wildly different in practice. Charity aims to provide assistance to those with less, whereas mutual aid is a process of building community and local sustainable solutions. Charity focuses on the moment, Mutual aid focuses on sustainability. Neither is wrong, just not the same, even though they do similar things.

Community working together building local sustainable solutions. Finding answers locally, keeps the value of our labor local, keeps our money local and protects us during periods of disaster, in that we are not depending on outsiders to bring us what we need to survive.

There are many things we cannot control locally, but the more we do the more sustainable we become. Mutual aid works to expand the possibilites.
